Charity Cheshire

Charity Lee Acree Cheshire, 80, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Friday, July 29, 2005, at Sikeston, Mo.

Born Sept. 13, 1924, in Brownsville, Tenn., daughter of the late Willard and Dora Lee Sanders Acree, she was a member of the Jesus Name Tabernacle Church.

In 1973, in Caruthersville, she married Tommy Cheshire, who preceded her in death in 2002. She was also preceded in death two daughters, Montia Rose Portwood and Mary Ruth Russell; one son, James T. Russell and two step-sons, Charles Cheshire and Charles D. Studie.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty McKnight, of Caruthersville and Sally Corder, of Sikeston, Mo.; one son, Timothy Stuart of Caruthersville; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with the Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.

Burial was in the Maple Cemetery at Caruthersville.

Pallbearers were Anthony Dale, Charles Studdi, Christina Burger, David Novak, Gary Tanner, Anthony J. Long, James Burger and Timothy Stuart.
