Born May 21, 1920, he was the son of the late Billie Brian Hampton and Mamie Pearl St. Clair Hampton, he was a U.S. Army Veteran in W.W. II and received six Bronze Stars for above Campaigns, Good Conduct Medal and Unit Citation with one Oak Leaf Cluster. He was a member of Christian Faith Church.
On February 11, 1946, in Malden, Mo., he married Patricia Morris Hampton, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, Richard Hampton and wife, Naomi, of Florissant, Mo.; two grandchildren, Matthew and Kathleen Hampton of Florissant, Mo. and two brothers, James Hampton of Belleville, Ill. and Donald Hampton of Mexico, Mo.
Visitation will be held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden, Mo.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at the Park Cemetery in Malden with James Powell officiating.
