Winston Eugene Holt, 63, of Lamar, Mo., formerly of Bragg City, Mo., died Monday, July 11, 2005, at Cox Medical Center North in Springfield, Mo.

Born Dec. 26, 1941, in Kennett, a son of Ralph and Pearl Mae Hedge Holt, he grew up in Bragg City, graduating from high school there in 1960. He served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam, after which he attended Southern Baptist College in Walnut Ridge, Ark. and Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. He managed Sears stores in Warren and Searcy, Ark. and later operated Holt Grocery in Bragg City. He moved to Milford, Mo. in 1990 where he was a member of Milford Christian Church.

On July 7, 1990, in Milford, he married Donna Louise Baumgardner, who survives.

Other survivors include two step-daughters, Teresa Winchell and husband, Terrance, of Lamar and Sharon Dickey and husband, Matt, of Salina, Kan.; five step-grandchildren, Tristen and Taylen Winchell of Lamar, Timothy, Stephen and Hannah Dickey, all of Salina.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ralph Dee Holt Jr. and Richard P. Holt and two sisters, Connie Sue Tomlinson and an infant sister.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. today, Friday, July 15, at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar.

Burial, with military honors, will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 18, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Springfield.

The family suggests memorials to the Milford Christian Church Building Fund or the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
