Velva Pool, 96, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., formerly of Gideon, died Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at the Mark Twain Nursing Center in Poplar Bluff.

Born February 8, 1909 in Corning, Ark., daughter of the late Ben Allen and Lula Beecher Allen.

On May 24, 1952, in Piggott, Ark., she married James Emory Pool, who preceded her in death on January 7, 1968.

Survivors include one son, Deloy Henn of Poplar Bluff, Mo., one granddaughter, Tammy Jordan of Poplar Bluff and one great-granddaughter, Blair Jordan.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Thelma Enirco and two brothers, Everett Allen and David Allen.

Graveside services will be held today, Wednesday, July 13, at the Masonic Cemetery in Naylor, Mo.

Burial will follow in the Masonic Cemetery.

Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements.
