Janie Barnes

Janie Ruth Barnes, 76, of Kennett, Mo., died Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at National Health Care in Kennett.

Born July 25, 1928, in Sharong, Tenn., daughter of the late Tom Lee and Dollie Mae Taylor Essary, she is a member of the Abiding Peace Temple Church.

On Dec. 9, 1944, she married Oscar Paul Barnes, who survives.

Survivors also include two sons, Jerry Barnes and wife, Stella, of Luxora, Ark., and Tommy Barnes and wife, Sharon, of Springfield, Mo.; four daughters, Bonnie Barnes, of Kennett, Connie Rhew and husband, Jay and Carlene Horton and husband, David, all of Kennett and Betty Low and husband, Raymond, of Gallion, Ala.; one brother, Billy Essary, of Pearl, Miss.; one sister, Shirley Hicks and husband, Billy, of Greenfield, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, July 7, at the Abiding Peace Temple Church in Kennett with the Rev. Eric Snipes officiating.

Pallbearers were Darren Mitchell, Damon Mitchell, Dominic Lovato, Kevin Rhew, Greg Low and Davy Horton.

Honorary pallbearer was Travis Smith.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
