Born July 4, 1937, in Caruthersville, Mo., son of Olva Johnson McCoy and the late Curtis Raymond McCoy, he was a U.S. Army and Navy veteran and a journeyman sheet metal worker. He was a member of the St. Ambrose Church in Chaffee, Mo.
Survivors include four sons, Randy McCoy, of Houston, Texas, Mark McCoy, of Texas City, Texas, Joey McCoy, of Liberty, Texas and Patrick McCoy, of Norfolk, Va.; two daughters, Angela McCoy, of LaMarque, Texas and Christy McCoy, of Texas City; his mother, Olva McCoy, of Delta; three brothers, Gerald McCoy, of Caruthersville, Curtis McCoy, of California and Fred McCoy, of Delta; six sisters, Glenda Klasener, of Warrenton, Mo., Shirley Bailey, of Arnold, Mo., Emma Gan, of Bloomsdale, Mo., Patricia Jones, of St. Louis, Mo., and Kathy Stoffregen and Debbie Johnson, both of Delta and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 2, at the Sacred Heart Church in Caruthersville with Father Scott Sonnenburg and Father Ralph Duffner officiating.
Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Jacob McCoy, Freddy Johnson, Bill Johnson, John Wagner, Joey McCoy and Patrick McCoy.
H.S.. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
