Samuel Duncan, 85, of Bragg City, Mo., died Thursday, June 9, 2005, at his home.

Born Dec. 2, 1919, at Blytheville, Ark., a son of the late Charles T. and Partheny Alice Ashabranner Duncan, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was affiliated with Bakerville Church of Christ, Bragg City Church of Christ and Bragg City Lions Club.

On Oct. 15, 1938, he married Opal L. Cullen who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include one daughter, Elaine VanBuren of Kennett; three grandchildren, Glen VanBuren, Elaine Breeze and Vondie VanBuren; and serveral great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are at 3 p.m. today, Sunday, June 12, at McDaniel Funeral Chapel in Kennett with James Powell officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.

Pallbearers are T.J. Collins, Danny Sisson, Jimmy Strother, Mike Strother, Mike Strother and Everett Marchbanks.
