Sarah Emma Sherwood, 99, of Gideon, Mo., died Monday, June 6, 2005, at the Gideon Care Center.
Born May 16, 1906, in Van Buren, Ark., daughter of the late Roy Lee and Rosa Lee Benson Campbell, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clarkton, Mo.
On May 18, 1926, in Alton, Mo., she married William Weston "Pat" Sherwood, who preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 2002. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, George, Harry, Thad, Smith and Frank Campbell.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathryn Lee Howard, of Clarkton and Patricia Ann Fletcher and husband, Jack, of Gideon; one sister, Carlanna Sconyers, of Farmers Branch, Texas; seven grandchildren, James Martin Howard, of Dexter, Mo., Elizabeth Ann Peck, of Melbourne, Australia, William Claude Howard, of Clarkton, Mo., Sallee Forrest, of Charleston, Mo.. Retha Behr, of Key Largo, Fla., Tony Fletcher, of Big Piney Key, Fla., and Clark Fletcher, of Springfield, Mo.; 10 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, June 10, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Gideon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Gene Lancaster, Steve Bricker, Kelly Reed and Cleo Payne officiating.
Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid, Mo.
