Born Sept. 16, 1928, in Grider, Ark., son of the late Joseph Wyatt and Mamie Whittaker Wimberley, he was a U.S. Army veteran and a carpenter.
On Nov. 1, 1950, in Clay County, Ark., he married Doris Marie Teeter, who survives.
Survivors also include three daughters, Donna Underwood and husband, Jim, of Houston, Texas, Julie Lynn and husband, Joe, of Cooter and Sherry McVey and husband, Ed, of Booneville, Mo.; two brothers, Douglas Wimberley, of Memphis, Tenn., and Charles Wimberley, of Caruthersville, Mo.; grandchildren, Amy Johnson, Emily Harvey and Julie Underwood, all of Houston, Rod and James Keith Lynn and Keisha Mosier, all of Cooter and Jeremy Powell, of Blytheville, Ark.; one step-grandchild, Amber McVey, of North Dakota; great-grandchildren, Brooke Sims and Hunter, Logan and Regan Harvey, all of Houston and Rhoada Lynn and Abby and Devin Mosier, all of Cooter and one step-great-grandchild, Peyton McVey, of North Dakota.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Lois Wimberley Templeton and two brothers, Edgar and Bill Wimberley.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 4, at the Bradshaw Powell Funeral Home in Steele, Mo. with Todd Spence officiating.
Burial was in the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Mike Hicks, Scotty Tubbs, Don Tims Jr., Jamie Qualls, Jimmie Cecil and Eddie Rinehart.
