Mary Elizabeth Gray Hester Edwards, 83, of Campbell, Mo., died Saturday, May 28, 2005, at the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark.

Born Nov. 11, 1921, in Rockwall, Texas, daughter of the late James Andrew Gray and Amanda Louisa Thompson, she was a school teacher, a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Kennett and a member of the Eastern Star.

On April 5, 1946, she married Gilbert Christman Hester, who preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 1978. She later married Harlan Kade Edwards on June 28, 1983. He preceded her in death on Sept. 14, 2000. She was also preceded in death by six brothers, Murphy, Arvel, George, Arnton, J.B. Gray and an infant brother, J.A. Gray, Jr. and one sister, Stella Mae Helgren.

Survivors include one son, Mike Hester and wife, Nicole, of Dexter, Mo.; three grandchildren, Chris, Michaela and Madeline Hester, all of Dexter and a great-grandson, Jack Hester, of Dexter.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, June 6, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 6, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Vaughn Wright officiating.

Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden.
