Lois Howard

Lois Irene Faulkner Howard, 96, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Sunday, May 29, 2005, at Caruthersville.

Born Aug. 6, 1908, in Sardis, Tenn., daughter of the late Mamie Ruth and John Presley Chalk, she was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

She married Claude Howard, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son, Don Howard.

Survivors include 11 children, Raymond Presley Faulkner and wife, Mollie, of Vernon, Ill., Paul E. Faulkner and wife, Melba, Fearl Faulkner and wife, Peggy and Shirley Woods and husband, George, all of Caruthersville, Louise Duke and husband, Harold, of O'Fallon, Mo., James Shearl Faulkner and wife, Betty, of St. Charles, Mo., Barbara Ann Armstrong, of California, Dan R. Faulkner and wife, Nancy, of Edwardsville, Ill., Billy Ray Faulkner and wife, Joyce, of St. Peters, Mo., Vernon Wayne Faulkner and wife, Joan, of Pacific, Mo., and Lois Marie Slavens, of Sawyer, Mich.; two brothers, Rural Chalk, of Morris Chapel, Tenn., and Bonnie Chalk and wife, Addie, of Juno, Tenn.; 47 grandchildren; 78 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti, Mo., with the Rev. John Earl Dunavant officiating and eulogy given by Bro. Raymond Faulkner.

Burial was in the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Caruthersville.

Pallbearers were Greg Woods, Parker Faulkner, Dewayne Faulkner, Kevin Faulkner, Tim Faulkner and Mike Linsman.
