Virgil Malone

Virgil Malone, 99, of Holcomb, Mo., died Saturday, May 28, 2005 at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born Oct. 15, 1905, in Greenway, Ark., son of Joe and Ella Griffin Malone, he was a farmer and a medical technician for the state of Missouri and a member of the Assembly of God Church.

He married Lora Gibson, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Billy "Teen" and Joe Wayne Malone; two brothers, Ezra and Joe Malone and four sisters, Edith Eubanks, Ruth Cude, Kathryn Thompson and Annie Wagner.

Survivors include three daughters, Katherine Tindal, of Holcomb, Linda "Colene" Branch, of Herculaneum, Mo., and Jenell Hicks and husband, Bill, of Virginia; four sons, Cleveland and Clencle Malone, both of Holcomb, Clyster Malone and wife, Rose, of St. Peters, Mo., and Garry Malone, of St. Louis, Mo.; 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 2, at the Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 3, at the Holcomb Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Gary Myers officiating.

Burial will follow at the McGrew Cemetery in Senath, Mo.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
