Rev. William Vernal Evans, 69, of Ellsinore, Mo., died Friday, May 27, 2005, at the St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Born Sept. 5, 1935, in White Oak, Mo., son of the late Walter and Alma Riddle Evans, he was self employed and a minister. He was a member of the Calvary General Baptist Church.
On April 17, 1955, in Hernando, Miss., he married Gloria Jennell Smith, who preceded him in death on March 29, 2005. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Verna Lynn Evans and one sister, Verna Dean Davis.
Survivors include three children, Danny Evans and wife, Susan, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Dennis Evans and wife, Tammie, of Andalusia, Ala., and Jennifer Boyer and husband, Carlos Jr., of Ellsinore; one sister, Doris Garrison, of Poplar Bluff; one brother, Michael Evans, of Rolla, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Mika, Brandi and Mallory Evans, Christy Blackman and Ethan, Aaron and Levi Boyer; three great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Kelsey and Kobe Blackman; three step-grandchildren, Chris and Jessica Casey and Jacob Jones and one step-great-grandchild, Easton Kirchner.
Visitation will begin at 6:30 p.m. today, Tuesday, May 31, at the McSpadden Funeral Home in Ellsinore.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, at the Calvary General Baptist Church in Ellsinore with the Rev. Mike Price officiating.
Burial will follow at the Pine City Cemetery in Holcomb, Mo.
