Jack Laster Taylor, 88, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Saturday, May 21, 2005, at Country Meadows Nursing Home in Desloge, Mo.

Born April 3, 1917, in Dyer County, Tenn., a son of the late Andrew Coleman and Belle Laster Taylor, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a commercial photographer and printer prior to retirement. He was a member of the Caruthersville Lodge AF&AM and of the First Baptist Church at Caruthersville.

On Dec. 25, 1934, in Caruthersville, he married Hazel Josephine Nations who preceded him in death Dec. 1, 2004.

He was also preceded in death by two sons, Joseph Jay Taylor and Jeffrey Fred Taylor.

Surviving are one son, Jack N. Taylor and wife, Debbie, of Desloge; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of services.
