Jimmy Donald McKenzie, 80, of Batesville, Ark., formerly of Campbell, Mo., died Friday, May 20, 2005, at the Batesville Nursing Home and Rehab Center.

Born Jan. 24, 1925, in Cape Girardeau, Mo., son of the late Edward and Bessie Philpot McKenzie, he was a U.S.. Army veteran, having served in WWII and a former mayor of the City of Campbell. He was a member of the Campbell Church of Christ and the Four Mile Masonic Lodge No. 212 A.F. and A.M. in Campbell.

On Aug. 6, 1948, in Piggott, Ark., he married Lorene Perryman, who preceded him in death on Aug. 27, 1992. He was also preceded in death by one brother, George McKenzie.

Survivors include four sons, James and Charles McKenzie, both of Springfield, Mo., Dwight McKenzie, of Cave City, Ark., and Scott McKenzie, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one sister, Frances LaFerney, of Campbell; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, May 24, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell with Rick Parker officiating.

Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Campbell
