Carolyn Avers, 58, of Worden, Ill., formerly of Campbell, Mo., died Monday, May 16, at Community Memorial Hospital in Staunton, Ill.

Born March 11, 1947, in Campbell, daughter of the late James Earl and Norma Ellen Snider Foster, she was a homemaker.

In 1969, she married Ronald J. Alvers, who preceded her in death in 1980. She was also preceded in death by her grandfather, Floyd Snider.

Survivors include four children, Chris Baker and wife, Kim and Timothy Alvers, all of Staunton; Andria Baker and husband, Jim, of Wildwood, Mo., and Stacie Schwartz and husband, Jeff, of Las Vegas, Nev.; one brother, Carl Foster and wife, Fran, of High Ridge, Mo.; one sister, Joyce Hamner and husband, Redman, of Red Bud, Ill., and four grandchildren, Ashleigh, Chandler, Brittany and Brooke.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, May 20, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 21, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow at the Elder Cemetery in Campbell.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Susan G. Koman Foundation.
