Son of the late Ernest and Lillian Englehardt, he was a graduate of the University of Mine and Metallurgy in Rolla, Mo., with a degree in civil engineering. He was a member of the Grassy Creek Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Carol Marshall; two daughters, Eva Marshall-Aldridge and husband, Chris, of Lexington, Ky., and Phyllis Marshal-Rice and husband, Ron, of Clemmons, N.C.; one brother, Bill Marshall, of Kennett and grandchildren, Lewis and Lane Aldridge and Fox and Jack Rice.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 16, at the Grassy Creek Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Mike Brazelle officiating.
Webb Funeral Home of Spruce Pine, N.C. was in charge of arrangements.
