Mary Ida Rice Cowgill, 82, of Kennett, died Thursday, May 5, 2005, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born April 23, 1923, in Dexter, Mo., she was the daughter of the late James Laura Maddox Reeder.
On Sept. 5, 1941, she married Elmer Richard rice, who preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 1991. She later married Jerald Cowgill on June 30, 1995, who survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Richard B. Rice and wife, Faye, of Kennett and Kenneth E. Rice, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one step-son, Allan Cowgill, of Kennett two daughters, Alice Bodkin, of Kennett and Marilyn Malone and husband, Mike, of Dyersburg, Tenn.; one step-daughter, Cynthia Wilkison and husband, Forrest, of Kennett; one half-brother, Everett Reeder, of Greenway, Ark.; seven grandchildren, Mark A. Rice, Sharon L. Riener, Matthew Bodkin and wife, Vici, Paula Hooper and husband, Tom, Lisa Malone, Scott Malone and wife, Shonna and Paul Malone; one step-grandchild, Jeremy Wilkison and seven great-grandchildren, Andrew and Connor Hooper, Scott Michael Malone, Blake Thrasher, Mari Howe and Paul and Payte Harris.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 8, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Dunbar officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.
Pallbearers are Andrew Hooper, Matt Bodkin, Mark Rice, Paul Malone, Scott Malone and Johnny Wilkison.
