Clitus Ewing Ivie, 71, of Kennett, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at National Health Care in Kennett.
Born Jan. 5, 1934, in Swifton, Ark., son of the late Rev. Walter C. and Stella Bradley Ivie, he was a high school band director, farmer and of the Pentecostal faith. He was a member of the Cotton Producers of Missouri, former member of the Farm Bureau, president of the Kennett Christian Academy and was chosen to play in the American Band Master Band of Chicago, Ill.
On June 1, 1961, in Kennett, he married Doris Dodson, who survives.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Junior and Eugene Ivie.
Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Friday, April 29, at the McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Carroll McGruder, Donald Sheerin, James Babcock and Ricky Williams officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.
