Jackson Wayne Dowler, 48, of Steele, Mo., died Friday, April 22, 2005, at his residence.
Born Sept. 2, 1956, in Caruthersville, Mo., son of James Phelps and the late Lucy Ward, he was employed at Maverick.
Survivors include one daughter, Stephanie Brown and husband, Barry Jr., of Steele; one son, Jonathan Dowler, of Portageville, Mo.; his father, James Phelps, of Caruthersville: a half-sister, Rita Middleton, of Caruthersville; one grandchild, Samantha Barber, of Steele; his grandmother, Laura Phelps, of Caruthersville and his fiancee, Donna Thomas, of Steele.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Vicki Phelps Reeves; a half-brother, Jamie Lee Goss and an infant son, Jackson Wayne Dowler, Jr.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 24, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with the Rev. Michael Richardson officiating.
Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Mark Hollis, Mytchell Stateler, Barry Brown Jr., Robert Rayburn, Paul Plummer and Barry Ray Brown Sr.
