Born Oct. 29, 1918, in Desha, Ark., son of the late Frank and Della Keller Kirkland, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII.
On March 24, 1946, he married Mary Lee Vannada, who survives.
Survivors also include two brothers, J.W. Kirkland, of Jonesboro, Ark., and Claxton "Jay" Kirkland, of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; one sister, Bernell Holloway, of Gideon, Mo., and two grandchildren, Dedra Fields and Mindy Haywood Danley.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 25, at the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Kennett with the Rev. Gary Myers officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Scott and Larry Webb, Joe Riggs, Harold Mikel, Gerald Barker, Tommy Kirkland and Jimmy Blankenship.
