Roby Sharon Dunn, 87, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Monday, April 18, 2005, at Hayti, Mo.
Born Jan. 23, 1918, in Steele, Mo., son of the late James and Alpha Woodard Dunn, he was a delivery salesman for Home Oil & Gas and Pemiscot Oil Company. He was a member of the Caruthersville First Baptist Church, member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and the Woodmen of the World.
On Jan. 9, 1942, in Caruthersville, he married Eva Virginia Pleasant, who preceded him in death on Oct. 16, 1998. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Joe Dunn and one sister Loyd Swindle.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Virginia Duncan and husband, Jerry, of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; one son, Russell Ranklin Dunn and wife, Marilyn, of Caruthersville; four sisters, Dafney Ginn, of Memphis, Tenn., Mary Lola Doddy, of Cherokee, Okla., Freda Scott, of Braggadocio, Mo., and Goldie Fowler, of Holland, Mo.; three grandchildren, Renee Duncan Hubbard and Jeremy Duncan, both of Knoxville, Tenn., and Jason Dunn, of Savannah, Tenn., and three great-grandchildren, Drew and John Duncan and Jacob Hubbard, all of Knoxville.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 21, at the First Baptist Church in Caruthersville with the Rev. Dave Lewelling and Dr. James Adams officiating.
Burial was in the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens near Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Jerry Duncan, Jeremy Duncan, Jason Dunn, Jimmy Graham, Rondle Swindle and Rickey Scott.
John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.
