Mary Sue Nelson, 77, formerly of Kennett, Mo. and Memphis, Tenn., died Friday, April 8, 2005, at the Malden Nursing Center in Malden, Mo.
Born July 9, 1927, in Poteau, Okla., daughter of the late George and Margaret Gedosh Beebe, she was a nurse.
She married Harold Pherigo, who preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 1957. On April 18, 1959, in Kingsville, Texas, she married Melvin Nelson, who preceded her in death on Nov. 8, 1993. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Survivors include one son, Shannon Pherigo and wife, Lisa, of Hornlake, Miss.; four daughters, Mary Gordon and husband, Kyle, of Lawrenceville, Ga., Jemelle Craig and husband, Rick, of Virginia Beach, Va., Sharlene Lack and husband, James, of Kennett and Maria Langford and husband, Bill, of Carrollton, Ga.; three brothers, George "Buddy" Beebe Jr., of Palatka, Fla., Robert Beebe, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Paul Beebe, of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Barbara Beebe, of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren, Lisa Garner, Larry Mulholland Jr., Wayne Lumpkin, Michael Felker, Tessa Sudbury and Kaitlin and McKenzie Gordon and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 17, at the Memphis Funeral Home Germantown Parkway.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 17, at the Memphis Funeral Home Germantown Parkway Bartlett Chapel.
Burial will follow at the Memory Hills Gardens.
