Amos Dalton Staggs, 69, of Rector, Ark., died Sunday, April 3, 2005, at his residence.

Born Jan. 27, 1936, in Rector, son of the late Joe and Luvina Staggs, he was a U.S. veteran and was employed at Emerson Electric. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Annie B. Wayland Staggs, of the home; three sons, Roy and Jeff Staggs, of Rector and Wade Staggs, of Seattle, Wash., and one grandchild, Atasha Sue Staggs, of Rector.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ava Sue Staggs; two infant daughters; two brothers, Walter Lee and Nubern Staggs and one sister, Edith Langster.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, April 5, at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Futrell Butler officiating.

Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Rector.

Pallbearers were Phillip Greenway, Gary Redman, Don Caldwell, Ivan Smart, Glen McKay and Dennis Wheeler.

Honorary pallbearers were Alvie Chilcutt, Charlie Beck and Hewey Burdin.
