Flossie Mae "Tootsie" Connell, 73, of Hayti, Mo., died Monday, March 28, 2005, at Hayti.
Born May 29, 1931, in Hayti, daughter of the late Harrison and Ethel Mae Hood Evans, she was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Hayti.
On Nov. 15, 1947, in Piggott, Ark., she married Dempsey Connell, who preceded her in death on Sept. 30, 1987. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Junior Houston Evans and James Evans and two sisters, Dorothy Evans and Collene Beck.
Survivors include one brother, Carles "Guinea" Evans and wife, Velma, of Caruthersville, Mo.; three nephews, Ronnie Mack and Jerry Dale Evans, both of Caruthersville and Carles Don Evans, of Piedmont, Mo. and two nieces, Virginia Kennedy, of Houston, Texas and Peggy Stevenson, of Wisconsin.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 31, at the John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti with the Rev. Kevin King officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were Eddie Barnes, Henry Glass, Terry Dale Evans, Ronnie Evans, Don Evans and Perk Jones.
