Ira Curtis Wheeler, 88, of Senath, Mo., died Monday, March 28, 2005, at the Senath Nursing Home.
Born Nov. 20, 1916, in Senath, he was the son of the late Elijah and Rosetty Garner Wheeler.
On Oct. 25, 1945, in Paragould, Ark., he married Lorene Gilbert, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, Norman Wheeler, of Senath; one daughter, Rose Tuberville and husband, David, of Van Buren, Mo.; one brother, O'Dell Wheeler, of Cahokia, Ill.; one sister, Thelma Bowman, of Wildwood, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Bobby Cox Jr., Cheryl Myers and Roxann and Dawn Tuberville and three great-grandchildren, Willy Myers and Joshua and Justin Cox.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Cornman and 14 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, March 31, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Senath with the Revs. James Skinner and Dewayne Larenson officiating.
Burial was in the McGrew Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bill Bradshaw, Vernon Wheeler, Donald Wheeler, Joe Wheeler, Barney White and Bobby Gilbert.
