Laura Belle Medlin, 91, of Kennett, died Thursday, March 24, 2005, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born Sept. 25, 1913, at Senath, Mo., she was a daughter of the late Shelby Turner and Minnie Elizabeth Taylor Slayton.
On Nov. 23, 1932, she married James Van Buren Medlin who preceded her in death Sept. 12, 2004.
Surviving are three sons, James Kenneth Medlin of Gray Summit, Mo., Paul Wayne Medlin and wife, Mary, of Arnold, Mo. and Donald Gerald Medlin and wife, Jean, of Clever, Mo.; seven daughters, Virginia Sue Singleton of Villa Ridge, Mo., Minnie Nadine Thomas of Pacific, Mo., Shelby Jean Cummings of Braggadocio, Mo., Linda Carol Durbin and husband, William, of Linn, Mo., Brenda Faye Slover of Terre Haute, Ind., Retia Gail Lance of Gideon, Mo. and Connie Elizabeth Willman and husband, Gary, of Goodman, Mo.; one sister, Louise Edwards of Alton, Ill.; two brothers, Eugene Slayton of Sikeston, Mo. and Marion Slayton of Tennessee; 35 grandchildren and numerous great, great-great and great-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Glen, Emory, Randall, Melvin and Bob Slayton.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at New Covenant Fellowship Church in Kennett, with the Rev. Patrick Singleton officiating.
Burial was in Memorial Garden Cemetery in Kennett.
