James A. Harris, 92, of Rolling Fork, Miss., formerly of Senath, Mo., died Friday, March 18, 2005, at Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital in Rolling Fork.
Born Nov. 2, 1912, in Winston, Ala., son of the late Byrd and Nancy Orton Harris, he was owner/operator of Harris and Harris Farms, a member of the First Baptist Church in Rolling Fork and a Rotarian.
He married Vera Benefield, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Billy Ray Harris, of Hollandale, Miss. and two sisters, Ruth Sullivan, of Ozark, Mo., and Esther Grossman, of Bingdon, Mo.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leslie and Earl Harris and two sisters, Bertha Kosty and Lillie Mae Cook.
Graveside services were held at 2:30 p.m., today, Tuesday, March 22, at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett with the Rev. Millard Caulder officiating.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
