Evelean Fisher, 86, of Hayti, Mo., died Monday, March 14, 2005, at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti.
Born Jan. 14, 1919, in Red Bud, Ark., daughter of the late John R. and Edna Berton Haney, she was a cook, a member of the Boekerton Baptist Church in Portageville, Mo., and a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Portageville.
In 1939, in Caruthersville, Mo., she married Marris Fisher, who preceded her in death on June 30, 1996. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Harold, John Robert and Barnell Haney.
Survivors include three sons, Mitchell Fisher and wife, Darla, of Steele, Mo., Jake Fisher, of Wardell, Mo., and Morris Fisher, Jr., and wife, JoAnn, of Germantown, Tenn.; two daughters, Betty Bullock, of Macomb, Ill., and Catherine Redmond and husband, Lynn, of Lexington, Ky.; four sisters, Bonnie Phillips, of Portageville, Martha Jo Barrett, of Monterey, of Calif., Jimmie Sue Hassett, of Pacific Grove, Calif., and Johnnie Ruth Sakota, of San Jose, Calif.; two brothers, Larry Haney, of Galt, Calif., and Jerry Haney, of Watsonville, Calif.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today, Thursday, March 17, at the Boekerton Baptist Church in Portageville with the Rev. Tim Abernathy officiating.
Burial was in the Portageville Cemetery.
Bradshaw Funeral Home of Wardell was in charge of arrangements.
