Mavis Sutton

Mavis J. Sutton, 81, of Blytheville, Ark., died Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville.

Born Feb. 16, 1924, in Braggadocio, Mo., daughter of the late E. Daniel and Vera V. Lemond Carman, she was a homemaker and was employed at West Department Store. She was a member of the Main and 13th Street Church of Christ, a member of the Cotton Belles Extension Homemakers Club and had been involved with the 4-H Program.

She married Cloyce L. Sutton, who survives.

Survivors also include two sons, Philip M. Sutton and wife, Terry, of Southaven, Miss., and Cloyce L. Sutton II and wife, Alethea, of Louisville, KY; three daughters, Linda McDaniel and husband, Mac, and Joyce Born and husband, Tim, all of Kansas City, Mo., and Deena Ladd and husband, Freddie, of Conway, Ark.; 14 grandchildren, Caroline Oleinik, of Huntsville, Texas, Stephanie Summers, of Battlefield, Mo., Daphne Kolb, of Kearney, Mo., Bryce McDaniel and Jeremiah and Michaela Born, all of Kansas City, Chase Sutton, in the U.S. Navy, Diana Sutton, of Southaven, Derek Ladd, of Bartlett, Tenn., Taylor Ladd, of Fayetteville, Ark., Daniel Ladd, of Conway, and Hannah, Nathaniel and Esther Sutton, of Louisville and three great-grandchildren, Jenny and Thomas Oleinik, of Huntsville and Landon Summers, of Kearney.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 p.m., today, Thursday, March 10, at the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Blytheville with Greg Groves, Leonard White and Olin Kern officiating.

Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery.
