James Chandler

James Donald "Jim" Chandler, 61, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Sunday, March 6, 2005, in Dyersburg, Tenn.

Born June 1, 1943, in Sikeston, Mo., son of Blanche Walker Chandler and the late Robert Chandler, he was employed at Apex Paving, a former Missouri Conservation Commission Agent and a member of the First Baptist Church in Hayti, Mo.

On June 12, 1962, in Charleston, Mo., he married Loretta McAfee, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include five children, Melissa Nixdorf and husband, Randy, of Springfield, Mo., "Toubo" Chandler and wife, Anna, of Van Buren, Mo., Bobby Chandler and wife, Lisa, of Caruthersville, Toby Chandler and wife, Karen, of Kennett and John Chandler and wife, Pam, of Rector, Ark.; his mother, Blanche Chandler, of Charleston; two sisters, Cindy Ellis, of Fort Hood, Texas and Janess Aldridge, of Columbus, Ky.; one brother, Randy Chandler, of Wyatt, Mo.; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one grandchild, Caley Chandler.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. , today, Wednesday, March 9, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Donnie Forrester officiating.

Burial was in the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Caruthersville.

Pallbearers were Jim Colbert, Trent Mann, Ricky Riley, Mike Roberts, Lynn Medlin, Gene Cecil, Danny Daniels and Jerry Hudgens.
