Emma Tensey Hamra, 90, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at the Caruthersville Nursing Center.

Born April 7, 1914, in Hardin County, Tenn., daughter of the late James Columbus and Nervie Elizabeth Smith Garner, she was a homemaker and was employed at Brown Shoe Company. She was a member of the Eastwood Memorial United Methodist Church in Caruthersville.

On March 18, 1949, in Piggott, Ark., she married Phillip Hamra, who preceded her in death on Nov. 19, 1983. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

Survivors include one brother, Archie Garner, of Caruthersville and one sister, Kate Cannon, of Sikeston, Mo.

Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 6, at the Little Prairie Cemetery in Caruthersville with the Rev. Dave Lewelling officiating.

H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
