Jared Keith Payne, 24, of Malden, Mo., died Saturday, March 6, 2005, at Friendship, Mo.

Born April 1, 1980, in Kennett, son of Tommy Keith and Janet Leigh Terry Payne, he was a barge deck hand.

Survivors include his parents Tommy and Janet Payne, of Kennett; one brother, Jason Pierce and wife, Juliane, of Malden; his grandparents, Thomas Payne and wife, Ruth, of Kennett, Wanda Terry, of Clarkton, Mo., and J.T. Terry, of Holcomb, Mo., and one niece, Courtney Pierce, of Malden.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, March 8, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden with the Rev. Richard Blagg officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
