Edith Alene Boyd, 97, of Walnut, Miss., died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at her residence.
Born Jan. 12, 1908, in Campbell, Mo., daughter of the late Guy and Rhoda Lee Skidmore, she was a member of the First Assembly of God in Caruthersville, Mo.
On Oct. 3, 1927, in Blytheville, Ark., she married William Riley Boyd, who preceded her in death on Aug. 30, 1971. She was also preceded in death by one son, James Edward Boyd; two sisters; five brothers and four grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Ralph E. Boyd, of McKinney, Texas and Raymond L. Boyd, of Hayti, Mo.; one daughter, Margaret V. Jones, of Walnut; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, at the First Assembly of God in Caruthersville with the Rev. Bob Titus officiating.
Burial was in the Maple Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were David W. Jones, Jack Boyd, Colt Boyd, Don T. Jones, Tony Boyd and David Jones, Jr.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
