Agnes Mae Brown Hooks, 86, of Malden, Mo., died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Born Oct. 30, 1918, in Dexter, Mo., daughter of the late Samuel Keller and Myrtie Cordelia Embry, she was in the nursing profession and then later worked at Brown Shoe Factory. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Malden.

On Sept. 7, 1941, in Toledo, Ohio, she married Clyde E. Brown, who preceded her in death in October of 1953. She later married Joe Hooks, in 1954, at Dexter, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1966. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Debora Marie Brown; five brothers, Cecil, Orvell, Dawsey, Larue and Everett Keller and one sister, Della Dale.

Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Sue Knuckles and Sandra Lou Laveen, both of Malden; two sons, Richard Brown, of Bernie, Mo., and Ronald Brown, of Malden; one sister, Geraldine Finch, of Bernie; 13 grandchildren, Scotie, Joshua, Jeremy, Rachelle and Mark Brown, Sheena Green, Nick Hall, Carlin Glass, Jason Bryant, LaDonna Silman, Sherry Taylor, Tim Minton and Shawn Forbuss and eight great-grandchildren, Joseph and Lindsey Hall, Sahara Glass, Christopher Bryant, Cassandra Kirkpatrick, Samantha Silman, Garrett Rice and Barden Taylor.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, March 1, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden with the Revs. Leroy Young, A.D. Hill and Larry Keltner officiating.

Burial will follow at the Bernie Cemetery.
