Alma M. Gresham Spell, 92, passed away Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005 in Amarillo, Texas. She was born May 12, 1912 in Bluegrove, Texas to Joe and Lula (Melton) Gresham.

Alma was the President of the Women's Auxiliary in the Tri State Conference of the Pentecostal Holiness Church for eight years. She developed children's ministries and played the piano and organ in the churches where her husband pastored. Earlier in life she traveled in a gospel trio across the United States.

Alma is survived by one son, Dalton Spell and wife Ginger of Mena, Arkansas; two daughters, Elnita Ridgway and husband Wendell of Amarillo, TX and Alfreda Simmons and husband Dr. Jesse Simmons of West Columbia, SC; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 58 years, Pastor Alfred Spell.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., today, Tuesday, March 1, at Northwest Christian Center. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral.

Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
