Lena Dodd Bradford, 94, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at her residence.
Born Sept. 1, 1910, in Fredericktown, Okla., daughter of the late Stanley G. and Annanette Elizabeth Laster Dodd, she was employed at Brown Shoe Company. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a member of the Caruthersville Woman's Club and the Hayti Garden Club.
In 1933, she married Beltron Guy Bradford, who preceded her in death on April 13, 1946. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Bonita Jo Bradford; three brothers, D.D., Vernon "Slim" and Willie Dodd and six sisters, Lennie Saunders, Marie Plummer, Ella Bea Bzson, Odell McCormick, Faye Cagle and Virginia Latimer.
Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Collins, of Caruthersville; one sister, Juanita Ownby, of Caruthersville; four grandchildren, Connie Dempsey and Jennifer Collins Croghan, both of St. Louis, Julie Collins Boyd, of Portageville, Mo. and Tom Collins, of Sikeston, Mo., and seven great-grandchildren, Tommy Dempsey and Cate and Brad Croghan, all of St. Louis, Jenna and Amy Boyd, both of Portageville and Isabel and Jake Collins, both of Sikeston.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, at the First Baptist Church with Dr. James Adams officiating.
Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Jack Scholl, Ben J. Dodd, Charles Ross, David Adair, Jiggs Dodd and Jon Constant.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
