Tessa Bell Franklin, 87, of Caruthersville, Mo., formerly of Malden, Mo., died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Mo.
Born Oct. 25, 1917, in Malden, Mo., daughter of the late GeorgeAlbert and Cora Edith Coons Predeau, she was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Caruthersville and a member of the Pemiscot County Historical Society. She was of the Southern Baptist faith.
She married Thaddeus Campbell and later married Charles Breckenridge Franklin on Jan. 17, 1942, in Bloomfield, Mo. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1965. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Richard and William Jennings Predeau and one sister, Nancy McConnell.
Survivors include two sons, Richard J. Campbell and Charles B. Franklin Jr., both of Caruthersville; one sister, Gertrude Lillian Luna, of Patterson, Calif.; five grandchildren, Jill Mott, Keith Campbell and Jana Tillman, all of Caruthersville, Susan Beck, of St. Augustine, Fla., and Charla Branum, of Kennett and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, at the Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Ark., with Delores Duck officiating.
Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements.
