Born Aug. 17, 1935, in Pemiscot County, Mo., son of the late Levi and Hazel James, he was a U.S. Air Force and a Army veteran, a truck driver and a mechanic.
Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Hollingshead and husband, Kyle, of Arkadelphia, Ark.; two grandsons, Justin Atchison Marks, of Lafayette, La., and Terry Wayne Cash, of Arkadelphia; one granddaughter, Heather Cash, of Arkadelphia; one aunt and uncle, Brenda and Grady Inman, of Braggadocio, Mo., and one nephew, Frankie James, of Kirbyville, Mo.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Atchison and one brother, Kenneth James.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Kevin King officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were Milford Chism, Denver Meek, Martin Ray, Frankie James, Cory Glisson and Kyle Hollingshead.
