Helen C. Jackson, 89, of Parma, Mo., died Friday, Feb., 18, 2005, at Beverly Healthcare in Malden, Mo.
Born Aug. 16, 1915, in New Orleans, La., daughter of the late George and Beatrice Smith, she was a chief matron at Cook County Jail and served on the Chicago Board of Education as transit coordinator director. She was of the Baptist faith.
She married Leo Clay, who preceded her in death. She later married Lewis Jackson on Dec. 31, 1975, in Chicago, Ill. He survives of the home.
Survivors also include two sons, Leo Clay Jr., of Chicago and Michael Clay of Sweden; one step-daughter, Jill Jackson, of Elizabethtown, N.J.; two sisters and three step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Jacqueline Reme.
