John Henry Walton, 83, of Malden, Mo., died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at Missouri Southern Healthcare.
Born March 28, 1921, in Sardis, Miss., son of the late Ben and Elginie Brooks Walton, he was a member of the Malden Church of Christ.
In 1941, he married Virgie Mae Rogers, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one daughter, Connie Shelby, of Chowchilla, Calif.; two brothers, Eddie Walton, of Sikeston, Mo., and Dorvice Walton, of Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Della Jones, of Cape Girardeau, Mo. and Fannie Holmes, of Alton, Ill.; one grandson, John Boy Walton, of Manchester, Ky.; one granddaughter, Yajuana Shelby, of Champaign, Ill. and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Bobby Jean Walton; two sisters, Hattie Howard and Gracie Robinson and eight brothers, Junice, Willie, Cornell, Bracie, Melvin, Fred, Charles and Jack Walton.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today, Feb. 22, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, at the Church of Christ in Malden with David McElwain officiating.
Burial will follow at the Macedonia Cemetery in Malden.
