Julia Mae Thornton, 92, of Malden, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, at Malden.
Born March 7, 1912, in Arkansas, daughter of the late Clarence and Lula Smith Williams, she was a member of the Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Malden and the Order of Eastern Star in Malden.
She married McKinley Thornton, who preceded her in death on June 7, 1990.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Harris and husband, Joseph, of Elkhart, Ind., and Mary Underwood and husband, Robert, of Malden; seven sons, Aaron Bob Ayers and wife, Dorothy, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Clarence Ayers and wife, Mary, Calvin Thornton and wife, Elaine and Bobby Thornton and wife, Norma, all of Malden, Perry Thornton and wife, Maggie, of Essex, Mo., and Jessie Thornton and wife, Dorothy, of Sikeston, Mo.; 58 grandchildren, 100 great-grandchildren; 45 great-great-grandchildren and eight great-great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today. Friday, Feb. 18, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at the Malden Community Center with Elder James Fair officiating.
Burial will follow at the Macedonia Cemetery in Malden.
