Amos Burneal Austin, 77, of Senath, Mo., died Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at the Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould, Ark.
Born March 6, 1927, in Senath, he was the son of the late Shirel and Hazel Wiser Austin.
On February 12, 1949, in Lake City, Ark., he married Stella Baxley, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, Ronnie Austin and wife, Debbie, of Senath; one daughter, Wilma Motes and husband, Johnny, of Baldwin, Miss.; four brothers, Oneal, Bond Dale and L.C. Austin of Leachville, Ark. and Jerry Don Austin of Manila, Ark.; five sisters, Melva Dean French of Jonesboro, Ark., Geraldine Tuck of Valdosta, Ga., Helen Poe of Monette, Ark., Wanda Jean Lowery of Valdosta, Ga. and Pat Smith of Glendale, Ariz.; three grandchildren, John Daniel Austin, Dennis Wayne Minton and Michael Alexander Steward and one great-granddaughter, Veronica Page Minton.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Eldon Carl Austin.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 17, at McDaniel Chapel in Senath with Rev. Andy Smith officiating.
Burial was held in the Senath Cememtery.
Pallbearers are Mike Steward, Joey Skaggs, Timmy Ozbun, Dennis Minton, David Webb and Alex Steward.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath was in charge of arrangements.
