Jean Mitchell, 85, of Hayti, Mo., died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti.
Born July 28, 1919, in Holcomb, Mo., daughter of the late Henry Benjamin and Nora Victoria Stacy, she was a member of the Hayti Church of Christ.
On Oct. 15, 1936, in Caruthersville, Mo., she married Neely Mitchell, Sr., who preceded her in death on May 10, 2001.
Survivors include one son, Neely "Butch" Mitchell, Jr. and wife, Wanda, of Hayti; one daughter, Macel Darnell and husband, Shank, of Jonesboro, Ark.; two grandsons, Dino Darnell, of Jonesboro and Trey Mitchell, of Hayti; two granddaughters, Sandy Bailey, of Sevierville, Tenn. and Tonya Boyd, of Jonesboro and one great-granddaughter, Neely Boyd, of Jonesboro.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15 at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with Jeff Thomas officiating.
Burial was in the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens Cemetery near Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Milford Chism, Bob Turnage, Zack Stevens, Claude Whitener, Patrick Turnage and Josh Ray.
