Elbert Donald "E.D. Barrett, 84, of Jonesboro, Ark., formerly of Hornersville, Mo., died Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born March 25, 1920, in Springfield, Mo., son of the late E. L. Barrett and Minnie Alice Sparkman, he was a U.S. Army veteran, and a gin owner. He was a member of the Hornersville Masonic Lodge 215 AF & AM, the Lions Club and president of the Missouri Ginners Association.
On Dec. 28, 1945, in Hornersville, he married Mary Lou Langdon, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, Dondee Barrett and wife, Jane Ellen, of Senath, Mo.; two grandchildren, Myles and Burt Barrett, both of Jonesboro; two great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett with the Rev. Jim Hogue officiating.
Bradshaw Funeral Home of Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
