Edgar Hayes, 95, of Bernie, Mo., died Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, at Mark Twain Caring Center at Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born Nov. 23, 1909, at Lexington, Tenn., son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Parker Hayes, he was a retired farmer.
In February, 1930, at Bragg City, Mo., he married Iva Mae Ray who preceded him in death April 25, 1989. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Otis Hayes, Riley Hayes, Bill Hayes and Parker Hayes and by one sister, Ada Pitman.
Survivors include three sons, Shirrel D. Hayes of Paducah, Ky., Denny L. Hayes of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo., and James Ray Hayes of Malden, Mo.; one daughter, Emma Jean Foust of Poplar Bluff; 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. today, Sunday, Feb. 13, at the Rainey-Mathes Funeral Home in Bernie.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Rainey-Mathes Chapel with the Rev. Calvin Buhler officiating.
Burial will be in Bernie Cemetery.
