Bobby Gene "Bob" Johnson, 77, of Machesney Park, Ill., formerly of Kennett, Missouri, went home to be with his Lord at 5 a.m. Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, Ill.

He was born Dec. 4, 1927, in Gideon, Mo., the son of Bearl and Rhoda (Mills) Johnson.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army.

On July 5, 1955, in Kennett, Mo., he married Dortha Brown.

He formerly was employed by National Lock for 11 years and retired after 25 years at the U.S. Postal Service. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Machesney Park where he served as deacon.

He enjoyed camping and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Dortha; sons Keith (Rhonda) of Miami, Fla., Kevin (Mary Jo) and Brian Johnson, both of Machesney Park; a daughter, Chandra (Dave) Isom of Roscoe; a sister, Reda Brister of Kennett; and grandchildren Joy, Hope, Faith, Mitchell, Lacey, Melanie, Brittany, Courtney and Josh Johnson and Kyle Isom.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Gail and parents.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the McDaniel Chapel.

Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
