Morris McGuire, 86, of Malden, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Mo.

Born April 23, 1918, son of the late Matthew William and Lydia Ashby McGuire, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII and he received a Bronze Star. He was owner and operator of McGuire's Garage in Malden and was a member of the Nazarene Church.

He married Cleo Della Lee Russell, who preceded him in death on April 8, 1963. On Jan. 17, 1964, in Malden, he married Minnie Catherine House Baker, who preceded him in death on June 10, 2003. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby McGuire and Ione Seelinger.

Survivors include two daughters, Jan Boyd and husband, Charles, of Arnold, Mo. and Kathy Boyle and husband, Gerlyn, of Bernie, Mo.; one step-daughter, Dorothy Morgan and husband, John, of Dexter; one step-son, Wayne Baker and wife, Claudia, of Malden; four grandchildren, Mark Boyd and Stacy Johnson, both of Arnold, Matthew Boyd, of Hillsboro, Mo. and Joe Campbell, Jr., of Stockton, Mo.; four step-grandchildren, Judy Murphy, of Fort Worth, Texas, Cheryl Cox, of Austin, Texas, Linda Ramirez, of Katy, Texas and Richard Baker, of Hattiesburg, Miss.; seven great-grandchildren; 9 step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Friday, Feb. 11, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 12, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Davis officiating.

Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden.
