Born April 12, 1931, in Houston, Ark., daughter of the late James Herman and Nancy Jane Lee Meese, she was a homemaker and a member of the Kimball Baptist Church in Malden.
On Feb. 25, in Piggott, Ark., she married Clyde Adkins, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one daughter, Debbie Furrll, and husband, Fred, of Toledo, Ohio; three grandchildren, Gary Wayne Pyland of Albuquerque, N.M., Glen Allen Pyland of Malden, Mo. and Toby Johnson of Manchester, Mich.; three great-grandchildren, McKenna Lee Pyland of Malden, Mo., Alexis Giles of Manchester, Mich. and Noah Giles of Manchester, Mich.; one sister, Gladys Hartsfield and husband, Al, of Malden, Mo.; three brothers, James Meese of Flint, Mich., Bob Meese of Malden, Mo. and John Meese of Clarkton, Mo.; one brother-in-law and Jack Adkins of Kennett, Mo.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Gary and Terry Adkins, two sisters, Verlon Hogan and Violet Meese, four brothers, Carl Gene Meese, Nen Meese, Jackie Meese and Clyde Meese.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 3 at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4 at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden with the Rev. Jim Cornman and Rev. Gene Lancaster officiating.
Burial will follow at the Rosewood First Addition Cemetery in Malden.
Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Meese, Jeremy Meese, Dean Meese, Johnny Lynn Meese, Everette Meese and Johnny Meese.
