John David "J.D." Faulkner, 87, of Kennett, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born Jan. 28, 1918, in Bear Creek, Ala., son of the late James Oscar and Ollie Lou Dickinson Faulkner, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII.

On May 23, 1945, he married Nancy Fisher, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include one daughter, Flo Colhouer and husband, Jim, of Kennett; one brother, Reverend Brooks Faulkner, of Smyrna, Tenn.; three sisters, Freida Arnold, of Chattanooga, Tenn., Jimmielou Hall, of Atherton, Calif., and Merry Gay Lorberg, of Cape Girardeau, Mo. and one grandchild, John Parker Colhouer, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Bruner Faulkner.

Memorial services were held at 1:30 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 3, at the First Christian Church in Kennett with the Rev. David Everton officiating.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
